Alcohol is loved by most adults, especially in the Philippines. However, not everyone can be put into this category. Whether you’re still underage or simply just don’t like the taste the spirits leave in your mouth, it’s okay to keep your distance from these alcoholic drinks. Alcohol doesn’t define celebrations, especially a joyous occasion like Christmas.

We’ve prepared a list of alcohol-free holiday mocktail recipes for you to try out to give you the same enjoyment that will liven up your holiday season. The best part is being able to enjoy the drinks to your heart’s content! 

 

Non-alcoholic Eggnog

(Preparation Time:1 hour)

If you’ve read our article on Cocktail Recipes to Try for Christmas, you’ll know that Eggnog is a Christmas staple internationally. Although the classic involves alcoholic content, lots of people offer the alcohol-free version of the classic. The non-alcoholic version is essentially the same as the original but leaves the spirit out. Everyone deserves a chance to indulge in this creamy classic, after all!

Ingredients:

1½ cups milk

½ cup heavy cream

¼ cup sugar

2 eggs (separated)

½ tsp ground cinnamon or nutmeg (for garnish)

Procedure:

Add 3 tablespoons of sugar to the egg yolks in a bowl.

Beat until fluffy.

While constantly stirring, add milk and heavy cream into the bowl.

In a separate bowl, add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the egg whites.

Beat until soft peaks form.

Fold the mixture of whites into the bowl from egg yolks.

Pour into the glasses.

Garnish with nutmeg and/or cinnamon before serving.

 

Shirley Temple

(Preparation Time: 5 minutes)

The cherry flavor of this holiday mocktail recipes makes one go back to their early childhood days. It could even be called the adult version of your old-time favorite drinks back in the days. The striking red color of the drink gives of a simple yet elegant and mature drink perfect for your Christmas celebrations.

Ingredients:

3 cups lemon-lime soda

4 tsp grenadine

1 lime

Cherries

Ice

Procedure:

Juice out the lime.

Add the lemon-lime soda into the mix and stir.

Pour drink into a glass of ice.

Decorate with cherries for added presentation and flavor.

 

Citrus Strawberry holiday mocktail recipes

(Preparation Time: 45 minutes)

This holiday mocktail recipes leaves a fruity and smooth sensation perfect for those playful children at heart. It combines two all-time favorite fruits, the strawberry and citrus. Making the syrup straight from the fresh ingredients will yield a much more refreshing taste so it’s highly recommend to go through all the effort of making one from scratch!

Ingredients:

Sugar

Water

Fresh Strawberries

Fresh Limes 

Lemon-lime soda

Ice

Procedure:

Make a strawberry syrup by boiling water, sugar, and strawberries together. The amount of each ingredient varies according to taste so experiment to figure out which suits you best.

Strain the syrup and make sure to keep the macerated strawberries from the syrup mixture.

Mix the syrup with the lemon-lime soda.

Add lime juice and the macerated strawberries into the mix.

Wet the rim of your glass with a lime wedge.

Grate lime to make lime zest.

Mix the zest with sugar and dip the glass until the whole rim is coated.

Fill glass with ice before pouring the drink mixture into the glass.

Add a slice of lime to make the drink look more presentable!

 

Watermelon Bellini

(Preparation Time: 10 minutes)

This pinkish red mocktail looks like an actual watermelon – but in liquid form! The taste, however, is more than just a watermelon puree. It’s an easy to prepare mocktail that’s quite simple and doesn’t have a much strong taste. This makes it perfect for light meals and celebrations in the morning until afternoon.

Ingredients:

1 cup watermelon (cubed) 

Sparkling cider

Procedure:

Place the watermelons in a blender.

Blend until a puree is formed.

Place ¼ of the puree into the glass.

Fill the rest of the glass with chilled sparkling cider and stir.

Decorate with a watermelon slice for added presentation.

 

Sparkling Blue Hawaiian Mocktail

(Preparation Time: 5 minutes)

This drink looks like the Jack Frosties from our Cocktail Recipes to Try for Christmas – but only in color. This holiday mocktail recipes has an entirely different taste to it but has the same striking blue color perfect for your Christmas celebrations. Although the flavor is different, the sparkling blue mocktail is still a festive drink with its own addicting taste.

Ingredients:

2 oz blue fruit punch

Sparkling white grape juice or sparkling cider (chilled)

White/Blue sanding sugar or sprinkles (for garnish)

Procedure:

Wet the rim of the glass with water.

Dip the glass into the sugar or sprinkles until the rim is fully coated.

Add the fruit punch to the glass.

Pour sparkling drink of your choice until the glass is full and stir.

Serve after ensuring that the drink has been mixed thoroughly.

 

Raspberry Spritzer holiday mocktail recipes

(Preparation Time: 5 minutes)

Raspberries aren’t an ingredient you’d usually find in your everyday drinks, which is what makes this mocktail so special. The mixture of different berries and other fruits gives a very fruity taste that leaves the most pleasing aroma. Ingredients:

1.75 L Raspberry Acai Juice (preferably 1 Trop50 bottle)

1 L Lemon-lime soda (½ bottle)

1 cup strawberries (sliced)

1 lemon (sliced)

1 cup fruit of choice (peach slices are recommended)

Ice

Procedure:

Mix the raspberry acai juice and lemon-lime soda in a pitcher.

Add the fruits into the mix and stir.

Add ice to the pitcher and stir until cold.

Pour into a glass of ice.

Decorate with fruit slices for added presentation before serving.

 

Christmas Lights

(Preparation Time: 5 minutes)

There’s no such thing as a Christmas without bright lights. This mocktail got its name from the bright red color and dancing sparkles it presents. It can be easily prepared with a few ingredients and is prepared in a manner like mocktails – giving you the same feel an alcoholic cocktail would. 2 oz. cranberry juice 

2 oz. sorrel tea

0.5 oz. lemon juice

Dry kombucha

Orange wedge/twist

Ice

Procedure:

Pour the cranberry juice, lemon juice, and sorrel tea together in a shaker.

Add ice and shake vigorously.

Strain the drink into your glass.

Garnish with kombucha and decorate with an orange wedge/twist for added presentation.

(Preparation Time: 5 minutes)

0.75 oz. cinnamon syrup

0.75 oz. lime juice

0.5 oz. cranberry juice 

Ginger Beer

Fresh cranberries

Rosemary sprig

Powdered sugar

Ice

Procedure:

Pour the cinnamon syrup, lime juice, and cranberry juice together in a shaker.

Add ice and shake vigorously.

Strain the drink into a glass with ice.

Top with ginger beer 

Decorate with cranberries and a rosemary sprig with sprinkled powdered sugar for added presentation.

 

Rosemary Pucker

(Preparation Time: 10 minutes + leaving overnight)

Rather than just using the rosemary sprig as decoration, why not make a mocktail completely based on it? The Rosemary Pucker has a crystal-clear finish with a unique taste made from preparation made hours beforehand. Ingredients:

0.75 oz. chardonnay vinegar 

0.5 oz. rosemary simple syrup 

Sparkling Water 

Rosemary Sprig

Ice

Procedure:

Steep rosemary in simple syrup overnight to make the rosemary simple syrup.

Add chardonnay vinegar and rosemary simple syrup into a shaker.

Add ice and a dash of water before shaking vigorously.

Strain into a glass filled with ice.

Top with sparkling water to taste

Stir and decorate with a rosemary sprig for added presentation.

 

Dalgona Coffee

(Preparation Time: 10 minute)

The Dalgona coffee was one of the most hyped-up drinks during the start of the pandemic. The fluffy and creamy caffeinated drink will make you reminisce back to the start to the earlier days of the year. This drink is easy to prepare, as seen in the trends back then, and loved by coffee enjoyers of all ages.

Ingredients:

2 tbsp. granulated sugar

2 tbsp. instant coffee

2 tbsp. cold water

Milk

Ice

Procedure:

Mix the sugar, coffee, and water in a bowl.

Whisk the mixture either by hand or with a hand mixer until it becomes thick and foamy.

Pour the milk into a glass with ice. The amount is dependent on your personal preference. 

Pour the mixture into the glass.

The drink can either be mixed or not before serving.
